This artist of whimsy states that when
pursuing her true passion her creativity freely flows.
When I was a young woman in my twenties,
my second child was born.
I began designing & creating clothing.
My collections were sold on Elmwood Avenue in Buffalo.
It was fun because, it was then,
that Madonna & punk rock influenced the fashion industry.
My first jusband was a drummer in a rock band
& I had a blast dressing him as well.
I also did specialty custom clothing, wedding gowns & bridal parties,
which enabled me to hone my skills as a seamstress.
Circumstances in my life, became as such,
that it was necessary to become financially self-sufficient.
Over the next two decades, I was blessed with two amazing careers,
that of registered nurse and interior decorator.
In 1996, I became completely self-employed.
With two sons & a farm full of animals to support,
it was a complete leap of faith.
Blessed again with amazing customers
(many whom I now call "friend"), I've never looked back.
I have now come full circle to my original calling.
Whimsy Wear is a collection
of shoes, bags, aprons, clothing & home accessories.
Hip Gypsy is an ornamental jewelry collection
combining original design with true vintage components.
I am heavily influenced by Russian art
as well as Victorian & gypsy-styling,
which is evident in each one-of-a-kind piece. |
