About the artist:
A Pendleton native,
Sharon's formal training includes
a degree in Photography & Fine Arts from Villa Maria College,
as well as recognition by the WNY Institute of Teaching Artists.
Sharon owned and operated SLB Photography Studio for 14 years.
Her talents focused on model portfolios and portraitures.
Many of whom became locally recognized,
some nationally with Kodak & Fisher-Price.
Sharon's love of nature led her to extend her talents
to the living and growing art form of landscape design.
In 1997 she began Sharon L. Barber DBA,
a landscape design and installatiopn company
that she runs with her project manager husband, Bruce.
An example of their work is the
retaining walls with landscape outside this very building.
Overlapping her entire career has been the developing of her painting skills.
Her residential and commercial faux and mural wall paintings
are renowned and have been featured in local news print.
The acrylic works in this gallery
are the culmination of Sharon's unique experiences
in the visual and natural arts.
They are a tribute to her willingness to continue her artistic growth.
